Symphonic Band

The CYMS Symphonic Band consists of students in grades 7 and 8. The ensemble features full band instrumentation and performs at school concerts, events, and functions throughout the school year.

Symphonic Band Dress for Performances:

Boys: school issued black jacket, black pants, white collared shirt, darks shoes and dark socks, school issued bow tie

Girls: school issued black skirt, white shirt/blouse/sweater, dark shoes.   Ladies may also choose to wear pants as long as they are loose fitting, long, and conform to appropriate concert dress.

Wind Ensemble

The CYMS Wind Ensemble was founded in 2003. The ensemble consists of approximately 30 percent of the total band population, and has a fixed instrumentation. The ensemble strives to perform music at a high level for middle school bands, while striving to foster independence and increase the level of musicianship and excellence of its individual members. The ensemble has been well recognized and has consistently received superior ratings at festivals and adjudications.
