A CYMS student placed second out of ninety-nine.

Central York Middle School recently hosted the York County MATHCOUNTS Competition, which included thirty-three teams of students from various local York County schools. The teams competed in math activities including timed individual rounds, team rounds, and a countdown round.

Our very own Alexis McChalicher placed second individually out of ninety-nine students, and one of our middle school teams consisting of Harrison Palmer, Berk Yanik, Ethan Bailey, and Ty Weaver placed fourth out of thirty-three in the team round. A group from York Suburban took first place for the team round.

Overall, Central York had four students place in the top fifteen of the competition:

  • Alexis McChalicher (2nd)
  • Harrison Palmer (9th)
  • Berk Yanik (10th)
  • Ty Weaver (13th)

The top twelve individual students from the team will continue to compete at Millersville University in February.🐾

A special shoutout to our middle school parents and families who provided donuts and refreshments for the morning!
