Part 1 Classes ~ 

The students in the part 1 class are currently researching a disaster of their choice.  They are looking for informative articles on the internet and gathering information.  They will take the information that they learned and write a paragraph about the disaster.  The students will include when and where the disaster took place, what kind of destruction it caused and how people of the area were affected.  Students will present their research project to their class.

Part 2 Classes ~

The students in the part 2 class are beginning a new workshop, which is titled, "Alien Invaders".  They will learn about plants and animals that invade environments that are not native to them.  The students will learn about the snakehead fish in Maryland, the brown tree snakes in Guam and the algae in the Mediterranean Sea.  To finish out the workshop, the students will write a persuasive writing piece about an invasive plant or animal.
