My
name is Delma Rivera-Lytle and I am the Diversity Education Specialist at
Central York Middle School,
I
have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College and I am a
Central York High School graduate. It is a privilege to be back at my
alma mater. My background includes numerous years as a social worker at
the York Spanish American Center. Working with students is my passion.
As the Diversity Education Specialist, I work closely with the guidance
counselors, social workers, administrators, teachers, and staff. I am
one of many resources available for your students. In addition to
working at the Middle School, I work closely with the diversity
specialists assigned to other buildings.
In
my role as a Diversity Education Specialist, I have served as the
coordinator for the annual district wide Diversity Celebration, member
of InTac (CYMS student assistance team), Olweus bullying prevention
program, diversity executive committee, student services committee, and
help coordinate the Race Against Racism. I also am a Leadership for
Diverse Schools graduate.
I look forward to meeting with our students and parents The Central
York School District population includes a growing diversity of
economic, racial, religious, social, ethnic, and students challenged in
many different areas. My goal is to make ALL students
feel welcome and respected in an environment of inclusion. In this way
we can together best acieve Central's mission statement which is
"committed to providing eucational opportunities through which ALL students strive to achieve their full potential".
